2016 Basketball Camps in Florida

Alright Floridians (lifelong Floridian myself), let’s get into your camps.

Pro Tip: Before you start you search below, figure out what kind of camp is right for your son or daughter.

Consider which locations you can travel to and what dates you’ll be free to spend time traveling to and from camp.

If you’re willing to travel anywhere in Florida, that’s great!

But, know the kind, location, and dates of camps you’re looking for. Because before you know it, you may 20 different camps you’re interested in!

2nd Pro Tip (because I’m feeling generous today): Coordinate attending a camp with another parent so you can car pool to and from camp!

Looking For Some Magic or Heat?

Magic fans, you have a lot of camps to choose from. Over 20 different camps all over greater Orlando.

The Magic Camps are run by a organization called National Basketball Academy.

They hold more than just summer camps for the Magic. The “NBA” also holds clinics throughout the year, basketball leagues, and personal training for more personalized skill development.

Heat fans, to be honest, the Miami Heat hasn’t been consistent with their camps over the past few years.

They have had player camps, weekend clinics, leagues, and community activities. You’ll have to check out their official website to confirm what kind of programs they currently have!

National Camps in Florida

National camps are held by organizations that have camps in several different states. Many of the big names are in Florida including Nike, Five-Star, and Breakthrough Basketball.

One notable camp that has up to a 4-week skill intensive camp is Impact BBall.

Located in Sarasota, Impact has a lot of different training programs, including a summer training camp, team training, Impact Prep Academy, and even an NBA draft prep!

Their alumni list is impressive for a camp program only in three different states. Read more on their website!

Additional Camps Local To Florida

I already mentioned IMG Academy at the top of the page. They are worth mentioning again.

As far as elite camps go, they are the elite of the elite.

Their private high school has the atmosphere of an advanced sports University. 99% of their graduates go on the play in college. The other 1% turn pro.

IMG has year round camps and up to 7-week long camps during the summer. Check them out if you want to train with the best.

TNT Elite Hoops, located in Orlando, provides both basketball camps and year-round training.

Their unique training includes specialties in shooting, ball-handling, defense, and footwork.

Tommy Houlihan basketball training is located in Jacksonville Beach. Tommy has one of the top training programs in North Florida.

Some of his stud alumni include Duke standout Grayson Allen, UF alumni Patrick Young, and Temple point guard Will Cummings.

Basketball Camps at Florida Colleges & Universities

Some really solid basketball camps are hosted by colleges in Florida.

Pick your favorite team from: Florida State University Seminoles, University of Florida Gators, University of Central Florida Knights, University of Miami Hurricanes. They all have boys and girls camps.

Don’t forget about the smaller colleges near you.

University of Tampa has 9 different summer camps available for both boys and girls. Elite camps are available for advanced players as well.
