OHHHH!! This girls' basketball camp was for 9th-12th graders. It's only one day camp AND the best EVER EVER EVER!!!

In one day I learned more than all of the camps I’ve attended combined. I was pushed to all my limits and learned basketball tactics and skills on how the university girls practice every day to prepare us.

There was so much effort and challenge that 3 girls left puking!

I will say that by the time I was done with this day I felt I put a whole weeks worth in and loved every aching minute of it.

This camp exceeded my expectations, there were not too many campers and each player received plenty of attention. The coaches were of the utmost, best caliber and skill. I could feel that I really learned a lot from this one day.

Yes, this was indeed the most worthwhile out of all the camps I attended and I am definitely coming back for this one next year!!!!

I really can’t say anything bad about this camp! You have to be tough to survive and I can see definitely why they have it for only 9th to 12th graders. :-)

UMaine Youth Overnight Camp - A worthwhile memory

My daughter was so completely happy for going to the Maine overnight camp!!! I cannot say enough about this camp. It offered a lot more than just the day camp.

This camp is great because it’s not just about spending overnight. It’s about breathing, sleeping and eating basketball which is right where my niece wanted to be! She was also able to see her new friend from last year.

The difference between the day camp compared to the overnight camp is that there are more hours spent learning the game; more drills and play tactics; eating there; then swimming after if you want to get the kinks out; and meeting more of the athletic staff.

My niece enjoyed the practicing different drills with the same age group. Similar to the day camp, there were not too many campers and there was some player attention.

She participated in contests where t-shirts can be won but she needs some more time to improve her shooting skills

The coaches were great, upbeat and motivated to engage and challenge the campers as players.

Only negative thing I can say: one camper seemed to think they could direct who should be doing what while we were scrimmaging. I told my niece sometimes different people want different things and we are not all the same.

Overall, even though the overnight camp might be a lot of money for the parents, it is DEFINITELY a worthwhile investment.

I just wish I would have known sooner so I could have sent her to a couple more but I am sooooooooooo glad she was able to go even once. A wonderful memory that will stay with her for sure.

UMaine Youth Day Camp

What was good about the camp is that it helps continue the camper's love of basketball while at the same time learning new skills while out of school.

The coaches were just so positive, energetic, and experienced. There was an age range of 3rd through 9th grade that could join.

All the drills and training you can have is packed into one week. There’s also shooting competitions and scrimmages to see who had the best team. T-shirts and bottles are rewarded for the winners.

Campers also get to meet other players who love the game that come from other places besides the Bangor area. My daughter made a friend there from Newport.

The camp met all her expectations. There weren't too many campers. There was plenty of attention given to each player.

One can only get better with practice, practice, practice and she is preparing for high school so this is one of the camps to help with that I think.

We attended this camp last year and she said she thoroughly had so much fun and enjoyed it so much she wanted to do the Youth Overnight Camp this year with her new made friend!

There just wasn't anything bad to say about the camp. Someone might complain due to the camp fee or that there was another camp that same week may have conflicted with this one so a camper couldn't go.

Overall, I would say that the UMaine camp is something to definitely go to. They definitely have the best basketball programs going!!!
