No need to stress about the number of camps, I’ve broken them down for you. We’ll walk through them all!

Before we jump into the camps…

Finding basketball camps can be a challenge. Here’s three tips to help you through your search:

1. Get The FREE Goods

2. Map of Basketball Camps in North Carolina

At the bottom of this page, find a helpful map of basketball camps near you.

Still browse the camps list because some don’t get listed on the map. Their location tends to change!

3. Interested in camps in other states? Check out camps in:

North Carolina Basketball Camps – 2015

The Tar Heel state (sorry Duke fans), has a rich history of basketball success, so North Carolinians you’re in luck.

There’s a ton of camps to choose from below.

Pro Tip: During your search write down notes of camps you may be interested in. This will save you time and overwhelm during your search.

Jot down things like cost, dates, and what makes the camp unique over the others.

When you have 10 camps and are narrowing them down to three, your notes will make it much easier!

Bobcats who? Hornets Hoops Camps

The Charlotte Hornets have a few different basketball camp options for youth players.

The Hornets have a traditional NBA summer camp in over 10 locations in greater Charlotte.

Learn basketball skills, play in games, and get some Hornets swag like a Hornets basketball, water bottle, and towel.

They also put on a Bee-Ball Dribblers Mini-Camp for the young basketballers in grades K-3rd. It’s a shorter camp so the younger kids can focus on getting better at basketball without getting tired.

The last option you may be interested in is their year-round training. Sing up for one-on-one, small group, team workout, or an NBA shooting group workout. All skills levels are welcome to train!

National & Celebrity Camps

National camps are what I like to call camps that have locations in multiple states.

Breakthrough Basketball is a popular National camp. They have several camps in North Carolina.

What I like about Breakthrough camps are their expert instruction and capped camper participation. This ensures plenty of individual instruction.

The only downside of capped participation is that they most like will sell out. So don’t procrastinate on signing up!

Throwing in an Elite camp for ya.

PGC Basketball is not for the player who is just beginning their basketball instruction.

PGC will teach campers advanced drills to take their game to the next level. They change not only the way you play on the court, but also how a player thinks about the game.

If you’re unsure if the camp is a good fit for your son or daughter, check out the quiz on their website that will clear every thing up!

For a Celebrity camp, Kemba Walker, current guard for the Hornets is putting on a camp in Indian Trial.

It’s only a two day camp, but if your son or daughter would like to meet Kemba, take a pic with him, and play some bball, his camp is the place to do it.

Discount Alert: Save $25 on the camp if you’re a Citi card member.

Camps Local To North Carolina

Ever watch Kenny Smith discuss college hoops and wish he’d teach your son or daughter the game of basketball?

Well you’re in luck!

The Kenny Smith Basketball Camp, located at UNC, not only teaches basketball skills, but also the importance of sportsmanship, staying in school and saying no to drugs.

What I think is great about this camp is that Kenny does all the instruction and teaching himself.

I’ve been listening to him discuss basketball for many years. I think he’s a good guy and would definitely let him teach my son not only basketball lessons, but life lessons.

Youth Hoop Instruction provides summer basketball camps and year-round training for both boys and girls in Chapel Hill, Durham, and Apex.

Some of their on-going camps include a ball handling specific camp, and an all-girls bball camp.

The Founder, Coach Berry, has a book about Life & Basketball. Looks like a good, inspiring read.

Plus, Youth Hoop camps and training come with a money back guarantee! Can’t go wrong there :)

I see how North Carolina can develop so many solid basketball players. Several programs are teaching more than just basketball skills. They’re teaching life principles too!

NetWorks follows along with that theme and focuses teaching basketball with habits of hard work, and a passionate commitment to excellence.

Providing bball training in the Triangle Area, NetWorks has training for every skills level including a Basketball Boot Camp, Shooters’ Club, Elementary skills program, pre-season coaching, and personal instruction.

NC Camps Hosted By Colleges & Universities

Duke University Blue Devils basketball camp is hosted by the living legend himself, Coach K.

Duke is one of the most popular bball camps in the country. And for good reason.

Campers get to play at Cameron Indoor Stadium, where the Blue Devils have sold out every game since 1990.

I’ll leave you with this quote that sums up the camp:

“We believe very strongly that the Duke Basketball Camp should be a learning experience and that it should be fun. Our counselors take a personal interested in each camper to help them improve their game, reach their goals, and enjoy their time with us” – Coach K

Another very popular summer camp is the University of North Carolina (UNC) Tar Heels.

Campers play at the Dean E. Smith center (which looks awesome with the baby blue seats).

Campers are taught by the coach with the winningest percentage of any active coach in the nation, Roy Williams.

Can’t go wrong there.

Parents, if you’re interested in the Tarheels camp, don’t procrastinate on the sign up. Even their waitlist sold out last year. They’re so in-demand, campers can’t attend more than one camp!

The Tar Heels put on a Holiday Clinic in the Winter too, so check that out if you miss out on the summer camp!

NC State University Wolfpack offer several camp options. Men’s basketball has Individual Camps, Skills Camps, and Team Camps.

Women’s basketball offers the same, plus an Elite camp.

Don’t skip over the smaller schools. They may have quality training right in your home town.

For example, Wingate University located in Wingate (dur), has several unique camps hosted by Men’s and Women’s basketball.

Both have a traditional camp for fundamentals, and a team camp. They also have Elite Showcase camps for players with college ambitions.

Pro Tip: Many smaller schools use their summer elite camps to recruit for roster spots.

Hit up those elite college camps if you want your game noticed by colleges!
