Discover Basketball Camps – Intro

Below you can find over 50 quality basketball camps in Minnesota.

What makes Minnesota unique is that many of the camps are camps you can only find in Minnesota.

Home grown quality basketball instruction!

But, before we jump into those camps…

Finding basketball camps can be a challenge. Here’s three tips to help you during your search:

1. Get The FREE Goods

2. Map of Minnesota Basketball Camps

Find camps near you by checking out the map at the bottom of this page.

Remember, still browse the list of camp links. Not all camps are on the map because their locations tend to change!

3. Interested in camps outside of Minnesota? Browse:

2015 Minnesota Basketball Camps

“Today I will do what you won’t, so tomorrow I can do what you can’t”

I Picked that motivating quote form one of Minnesota’s local basketball camps.

The local camps are where it’s at in The North Star State. You can find shooting camps, satellite camps, and 3-week overnight intense instruction camps all in MN.

Pro Tip: I noticed that Minnesota has several basketball clinics. If you’re wondering what a clinic is versus a camp, a clinic will be shorter and less expensive.

For example, a one-day weekend clinic is something you may see.

Timberwolves & Lynx Camps

The Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball camps, also called a Basketball Academy, has dozens of bball programs all over greater Minneapolis.

They provide one of the top NBA & WNBA youth training programs.

Choose from camps or clinics, girls only camps, or advanced skill camps for the players looking to push themselves.

Mini Dribbler camps are a 4-week long program designed to introduce young basketballers to the game.

There’s also year-round training for the individual, group, or team with four different locations to choose from.

Even if you don’t have a Wolves sponsored facility nearby, they are willing to travel to a gym closer to you!

Both the Wolves & Lynx have something unique I haven’t seen any other NBA & WNBA team put together.

It’s a 21-day overnight basketball training camp. The camp has way too many details for me to get into here.

Just know that if you’re really looking to take your camper’s game to the next level with intense training, this camp may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Minnesota Camps Worth Mentioning

43 Hoops Basketball Academy boasts that it offers the best basketball training, camps and clinics in the Twin Cities.

Choose from programs like the Point Guard camp, Shooting for Success clinic, Junior Hoops camp, and Skills to Score camp.

Don’t believe they’re the best? They’ll prove it to you with a FREE basketball training session.

I’ve never seen a basketball program offer that before. A Guarantee, yes, but not free training. Something you may want to consider if you live in the area!

Pacesetter Sports has it going on in Minnesota. They host camps in several states, but in MN they have 20+ camps all over the state for both boys and girls.

What’s unique about Pacesetter is that they’re what’s called a Satellite camp. You set up the gym, find the athletes, and they will come to you to put on a camp.

They also host specialty camps in Minnesota for specific skills training, like the Shooting camp, Championship Basketball Camp (intense training) and a Jump Shooting camp.

With over 15 camps, Johnny Tauer’s Championship Basketball is another camp that dominates Minnesota.

Coach Tauer definitely knows how to teach basketball skills. As head coach of St. Thomas University, he’s led them to MIAC Champs for ten consecutive seasons.

Plus, the camp’s goal is for every camper to improve their skills and have a fun time by simply trying their best! Do your best and you will improve!

Breakthrough Basketball is one of my favorite camps because they consistently put on quality camps.

They place a limit on camp participation to ensure quality individual instruction.

Heads up, almost all their camps sell out because of the limit, so don’t wait around to sign up!

Looking for advanced training? PGC Basketball may be right up your alley.

PGC has some of the best training in the country. Their basketball teaching are unique because they make a player think differently about the game.

If taken seriously, PGC Basketball’s teachings will improve a player’s basketball IQ. I should know because I attended their camp about 15 years ago!

Camps Hosted By Colleges & Universities

University of Minnesota Gophers Men’s Basketball offers a pretty typical summer camp experience.

There’s a traditional individual camp that offers skills development, stations, contests, and games.

Gopher’s Women’s basketball on the other hand, offers some better options. There’s an elite camp, a little gopher camp, a team camp, and a team shoot out.

Minnesota State University in Mankato has fairly typical options for boys and girls, including day camps, overnight camps, elite and team camps.

Another popular college in Minnesota is the St. Cloud University Huskies.

They offer the traditional camp options including day and overnight camps.

Something unique about St. Cloud is campers can play tennis, racquetball, and volleyball during their free time.

There’s a ton of smaller D3 schools in Minnesota that can provide excellent bball instruction. Don’t skip over these.

A good example is Saint Mary’s University in Winona. They have a Co-Ed Skills camp and a Boys Advanced Instruction camp.

Reminder: Many of the smaller colleges use elite camps to recruit for roster spots. If your son or daughter wants to play ball in college, check out the elite camps!
