2016 Kentucky Basketball Camps

Kentucky has a long tradition of creating great basketball players.

Before any of the players became great they put in many, many hours of challenging training. The camps below will help you find that training.

Pro Tip: Before you start your search have a good idea of what kind of basketball camps your son or daughter is interested in.

Kid camps, elite camps, or something in between? Father/son camp or overnight camp? Are they interested in meeting a pro player?

I was also really surprised by the number of professional players that have camps in KY. I believe that’s because many of those players are alumni from UK and Louisville. The alumni come back during the summer to host camps!

The only thing holding you back from attending this camp is the price tag: $7,500 – $10,500 for camp admission!

National & Celebrity Camps in KY

National camps are the most popular camps across the US. They have multiple camps in several states.

Breakthrough Basketball has several camps in Kentucky year-round. Definitely worth a look, especially if you’re looking for some training outside of summer.

Boys and Girls Nike camps are in Kentucky too. Nike generally has solid camps, but do come at a hefty price tag depending on the camp type.

Camp One has some of the biggest basketball names attend their camps. Mostly held in KY, they host camps for former UK players like Demarcus “Booooogie” Cousins and Wizards star John Wall.

Just for fun I wanted to mention the Rajon Rondo Basketball Camp. Rajon grew up in Louisville, and no matter what team he plays on, he always comes back to his roots to put on a basketball camp.

As you can see in the picture Rondo’s loves playing with the campers!

Basketball Camps Local to Kentucky

Located in Lexington, the Kentucky Basketball Academy has a facility with 5 hardwood courts.

They do a lot more than just basketball camps, including leagues, tournaments, clinics, and AAU basketball events.

Rick Bolus High Potential Blue Chip Exposure camps (a mouthful) is one of the best exposure and showcase camps in the U.S.

For five consecutive college seasons, at least one former camper played on a final four team.

Basketball Camps at Kentucky Colleges

College camps are the bread and butter of Kentucky basketball.

University of Kentucky is one of the most in demand basketball camps in the country. For good reason.

UK Wildcats offer several programs including a Father/Son camp, overnight camps, and Pro Camps with former players now playing professional basketball.

Murray State basketball camps are also worth a looks. They offer 5 different camps for both boys and girls.

Unfortunately, University of Louisville and Rick Pitino won’t be holding any boys basketball camps this year.

The reason why bball camps are cancelled is unknown. Women’s basketball will be holding camps though!
