Camp & Reviews and Q&A
No time was wasted at camp
The coaches were incredibly enthusiastic. They revved up the boys with their infectious positive attitudes. Lots of high fives.
The FGCU Camp had great coaching and drills. It’s an efficient camp. The campers moved from drill to drill with short breaks in between. Then, they took slightly longer breaks (about an hour total with a coach lecturing).
The whole camp is really geared toward improvement of the players stay with the drills they learned. Not allot of time wasted.
With all the drills, there was not much scrimmage time, which I believe only reinforces bad habits.
The only negative thing I’d have to say about the camp were the only 3 hour days for 4 days. Although, as I said before, little time was wasted. As a parent I would have really liked 4 hour days for 5 days.
Overall, there was plenty of coaches with good coach-to-player ratio. I would have also liked to see more individual attention.
The FGCU camp fits many skill levels. The kids are broken into groups based on age, size and ability. This was great because players with similar abilities were together.
